Date Farmers show their stuff at Andenken
Carlos Ramirez and Armando Lerma are the art duo known as the Date Farmers. Collaborating together since 1998 the two forwent individual recognition for a collecitve, familial identity. American Born Chicanos, the Dater Farmers draw upon their Mexican heritage as well as contemporary California dreams and realities to create embattled landscapes where cultures collide. The result? A collection of problematic paintings and collages where Graffiti meets traditional street mural; revolutionary propaganda meets corporate advertising, hand painted signs meet handmade prison ink.
