Denver Does Denver
Illiterate had an idea. It was simple, sexy and subversive: invite local musicians to cover the material of other local artists in a one night only auditory orgy. Immediately questions mounted: How many Denver musicians were really up for a collaborative song swap? How would they handle the challenge? Would they honor their fellow performers with heartfelt renditions, or lampoon the competition in a community karaoke night? All will be answered on Saturday June 6 at Denver Does Denver, as twenty + artists engage in musical intercourse, interpretting the songs of bands past and present, between two neighboring venues and three stages.
