Interactivity: The Music Video 2.0
It was only a matter of time before somebody updated the music video for the age of interactive media. That somebody is Director Sam Jones. With the aide of interactive production company Tool of North America, Jones created a choose your own adventure version of the Cold War Kids' "I've Seen Enough", in which users can customize the video and the song in an almost infinite amount of combinations.
Shot inside a dimly lit studio, the video captures the band playing and recording four variations of the song. Filmed individualy, each band member plays their part four separate times, each time changing instrumentation while maintaining the same tempo. The resulting video is actually four videos--one for each musician-- streaming simultaneously side by side. Becuse of of the low light, the band members all look like they're playing in the same room or void. User's can manipulate, each band member's part of the song, with the ability to swap in and out the various elements within the song.
