Taxis And Shit Book Release
Jonathan Montgomery has just published a new book of poetry. Which is just an un-fancy way of saying (shouted while standing on a chair in the middle of the Burnt Toast Jonathan Montgomery style)
ALL HAIL THIS METERED EXISTENCE! HUMAN BEINGS IN YELLOW T-SHIRTS! THESE GLORIOUS TAXIS! THROUGH ALL THIS, POETRY AND ALSO ALL POP MUSIC REFERNCE HAS ONCE AGAIN REDEAMED ITSELF! LONG LIVE THE ELECTRONIC SYNTHESIZER OF ANALOG FUCK! ENJOY THE PARADE AND SUPRISE! AND ALSO P.S., HOORAY!
or something like that.
If I had one poet per finger for each of my top 5 favorite poets performing today, Jonathan Montgomery would belong to that hand. If David Bowie fucked Ted Berrigan and the entire cast of Cheers while listening to Cindy Lauper, and in that fucking produced a baby, Jonathan’s Poetry would be that thing attached to the umbilical chord, shot straight from Norm’s Sam-Malone’s –toupee-loving womb.
I encourage everyone to pick up a copy of his new book: Taxis and Shit, The METOO Poems Volume 3, published by Monkey Puzzle Press (who’s founder and front line quarterback Nate Jordan is also one of my favorite fuckers promoting good poetry today). Jonathan will be reading at the Laughing Goat on Friday as part of the Boulder Fringe Fest, so if anybody can’t make it to Denver for the big Illiterate Show, swing by.
