- Dearest Foe
Dearest Foe
Sometimes I shy away
When the lake reflects our lazy days
Back when the world was a warm oyster
We could crack open it's plain exterior
And taste the juices
And sit in awe at the allure of the hidden hues
The waves wash up old thoughts
I recall the approval and the shelter I sought
All of it buried 6 feet deep in sand today
I could say good riddance
But would you believe me?
I wont mark it with X out of spite
Raindrops played hopscotch
As we danced in the mist while the forest watched
I thought to choke you as if it was your fault
You beat me to the punchline dearest foe
You left without a trace
Did you laugh when you kicked me?
I know I would have, if we switched places
