- (elderly lost bones and organs)
(elderly lost bones and organs)
elderly lost bones and organs
slipping out of natural openings in the body
slipping out of new openings in the body
the body became too loose,
left a trail of tiny pieces through the parking lot
ancient stains on concrete stairs
to the dirt where he breathed into a hole
then he buried his breath and walked away,
looking back once in a while
though looking back so slowly
whatever was there
had plenty of time
to leave
a middle aged thief
visits once in a while
committing obvious crimes
waiting for the police
to give him a tough bed
with troubled friends across town
behind bars and barbed wire,
but the sirens are silent
the police are preoccupied
picking up tiny bones and interior organs
in the parking lot -
found an old man with open cuts
he pretended not to understand,
mouth open and shaking out words
one every five minutes it seems
so the listener always leaves
before the sentence is finished
