Memories of Emory

Two elders of the thriving City of Emory, convene at the Live Oak. Sounds of the nearby babbling river add a subtle backdrop to their disputes of urban planning. Slowly a vision for the new metropolis takes shape. Plans for the layout, and for defense from the mysterious large footed humanoids are made. This planning is done most carefully, to construct a juvenile utopia where joy and prosperity abound. Imports to this worldly conurbation total zero, while the chief export of thought envelops an unsuspecting world. The two elders survey their success from this lofty perch upon the Live Oak and smile at their triumph. Said the younger elder to the other, “This has been an awfully fun afternoon hasn’t it?” In response the elder elder said, “It sure has been.” A moment passes for retrospective contemplation as these two enjoy a warm spring breeze, which playfully crooks the leaves of the prestigious Live Oak. The forever restless younger elder without provocation then declares, “I am bored with this. Let’s ride our bikes over to Barnard and ride on those ramps.” The elder elder smiles and says, “Sounds awesome man. We can stop on the way and get some of those glass bottle sodas.” So there ended in the Live Oak this experiment in government. It was a pure and victorious venture in democracy, its legend living on as an inspiration for those yet to come. For as most know the truth, that besides being easy, at twelve to conquer to world is fun.
